Home&More
Year: 2024
Client: Ndrecaj Family
Location: Plave, Montenegro
Status: On-Going
Budget: 15 000 EUR
In an era where recognizing the limits of energy resources and the unsustainable consumption of territory is crucial, Home&More believes refurbishing abandoned historical heritage is a primary challenge.
Beyond aesthetics, this project reshapes the design process, anchoring it in a more grounded reality. It advocates for thoughtful study and investment in specific families and sites. Thus, by revitalizing Ms. & Mr. Ndrecaj’s abandoned property in Plave, Montenegro, the project pursues two main objectives:
1. Reusing existing footprints.
2. Reconstructing spaces with individuality.
The intention is clear: to reduce CO2 emissions, honor the historical narratives of locations, and create spaces that meet the unique needs and desires of their inhabitants. Engaging local communities, employing sustainable materials, and fostering biodiversity conservation, our project prioritizes social responsibility.
Thus, at the peak of a new age of consumerism, this home is defined through its domestic paraphernalia—the furniture, fixtures, and accessories are the main characters of the space. The new social conditions are tied to the ownership and personal value attributed to space, ensuring an individualistic design.
Through this approach, Home&More encodes domestic spaces as social and cultural features through which we represent our nature—and live with it.

Except for a 3% stone work needed for the revitalization of the existing walls (46m² of the facade), the remaining walls will be connected with KINGSPAN insulated walls (30m²), attached to an inner wooden structure, and covered with a KINGSPAN insulated roof (24m² in surface). The rest of the design will also be made of wood elements, all produced in the city of Plave.
